Exclusive Sheepskin Throw Seconds
Exclusive to The Wool Company, these soft and luxurious throws look fabulous in any interior. These versatile sheepskins can be styled on the floor, sofa, chair, bed or even used as a luxury bed for your much-loved pet. The fleece of the current stock are not as silky soft as usual which is why these are being sold as seconds, perfect for a functional rug or a pet bed.
Each piece is high quality, classified as a “second” for blemishes, discolouration, or small imperfections such as a bald patch. These are the same indulgent raw skins that, if flawless, would be made into our exclusive throws. T
Sourced from North American Merino crossbreeds, these sheepskins are extra large, covering roughly twice the area of a standard sheepskin.
The fleece has been expertly shorn to a practical 25mm, making it beautifully low-maintenance.
Watch: How we make sheepskin rugs
- Size: Approx. 115 x 70 cm
- Composition: 100% Sheepskin
- Origin: Made in Great Britain
Product Care
Spot cleaning is recommended, but these rugs can be carefully machine washed if needed at up to 30°C on a wool program (subject to machine size) using wool-recommended detergent.
Machine washing may alter the finish slightly, as the polished (ironed) surface gives these sheepskins their silky softness.
Allow to dry naturally.
As with all dyed sheepskins, some colour change may occur after washing.
Origin & Sustainability
Merino sheep crossbreed from North America.
Tanned, dyed and hand-finished in the UK by Britain's last remaining traditional sheepskin tannery which has been using the same methods and on the same site for over 120 years.
By choosing a seconds rug, you’re helping to make use of beautiful natural materials that would otherwise be discarded.
